116th Breast Cancer Awareness Workshop at Senior Secondary School(Girls) AMU

The session emphasized that our purpose was not to instill fear, but to inform you that early detection of breast cancer significantly increases the chances of a full recovery. In India, many women conceal their condition or seek treatment from unqualified practitioners, which leads to dire outcomes.

Unlike in the West, where women routinely perform self-examinations, leading to higher survival rates, in India, one out of every two women diagnosed with breast cancer succumbs to the disease within a year. In contrast, in Western countries, three out of four women survive for more than five years.

During the program, Dr. Farzana Hadi conducted a demonstration on self-examination techniques for an exclusively female audience, highlighting the importance of early detection.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Director of AMU Schools and Mrs. Naghma Irfan, Principal of the Senior Secondary School (Girls), for their support in making this event possible. Special thanks also go to Dr. Mohsin Raza for his valuable contributions.
